Thieves Island

Legend has it that many years ago the greatest thieves ever known, Byzantine Jones and the Corsican Stranger, set aside their long-standing rivalry and worked together to plunder the famous Treasure Chambers of King Altamar. The scandalized tyrant secured the services of the dreaded Hounds of Hades to track down the intrepid adventurers. Hearing of the pursuit, the two decided to hide the treasure and disappear from sight until the King's anger died down.

Years passed and King Altamar died. The Hounds, unsuccessful in their bid to locate the two thieves, returned to Hades. Byzantine and Corsica were never heard from again. Many rumors surfaced regarding their fate. Some said that they had perished in a daring raid on the Art Galleries in the Halls of Valgazi; others reported that they were seen in a remote dimension that was previously inhabited only by beautiful female warriors banished there by a jealous Queen; others said they were scouts for the Armies of Light in the War against the hordes of Chaos; still others speculated that they had shape shifted and were still at large.

A toothless, wizened old sailor found a map to a remote, uncharted island far off in the Sea of the Five Dragons. He sold this map to your party, knowing that he could not survive the perilous journey himself. Beneath the map are the rune-marks, , of Byzantine Jones! Could this be the location of the fabled treasure cache? Your band of adventurers has decided to mount an expedition to the island to find out.
